Florida and fishing go hand in hand (much like California and surfing), so it is no wonder that there are many delicious seafood dips that will go well with a Florida Gator game. This Smoked Mullet Spread goes well with ordinary saltine crackers, but don’t be afraid to try it with those homemade pita chips.
Smoked Mullet Spread
1-1/2 pounds smoked mullet
2 teaspoons minced onion
2 teasponns finely chopped celery
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tablespoons finely chopped chow chow
1/- 1/4 cups mayonaise
1 tablespoon dry mustard
Dash of Worcestershire sauce and hot characha hot sauce
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
Remove skin and bones from mullet. Flake the fish well. Mix all ingredients together, but parsley, and chill at least one hour. Transfer to clean serving bowl, garnish with parsley and let the party begin!
Makes approximately 3-1/2 cups of mullet spread.
